In Mafia, if one were to call out a random person out of no reason, or is constantly raising their hand to kill someone off, then there is a pretty good chance this person is a Mafia member. Similarly, in Saboteur, if someone makes a move such as digging in the opposite direction of the gold, or throwing a definite gold digger in jail, then they are probably a saboteur.
Also, what I noticed to be parallel in Saboteur and Mafia is the fact that if you blow your cover, then the opposite team will ruin you. For example, during the Mafia game, Thomas made it known he was the Sheriff, and the Mafia did all they could to kill him off, starting with the death of the Angel. In Saboteur, for example, when I made an “obvious sab move” by messing up the digging path, I was severely crippled by the gold digger’s action cards.
